Blah.

I have been looking through my wedding pictures lately and, sadly, they make me so irritated. Not that the pictures were bad, but I really, really, REALLY hated my dress. I'm just going to take this time to vent. (s0 if you don't want to here me complain than I wouldn't suggest reading this post) First of all, if you need to buy a dress with sleeves, buy it in Utah. I did a big no-no by buying my dress in California. I loved the dress I bought, but it was a tube top. The lady that helped us at the bridal store said that they have a seamstress that puts sleeves on dresses for Mormon weddings all the time. SO, I felt comfortable with her adding on sleeves. I met with the seamstress and we talked about what I wanted and I brought pictures in and everything. I felt totally comfortable with her and she seemed to totally get what I wanted. So I left it up to her. (keep in mind we only had about 3 1/2 months to plan a wedding, so we didn't have much time) I was still in school at this time so I was up in Utah while my dress was being altered in California. She scheduled the first fitting about a month after we had first met, which worked out great because that was a weekend I was going to be in town. When I get to her house, NOTHING was done. She needed to take my measurments, so we did that and scheduled another appointment. (this time I thought for sure she would be done with it) Was I wrong? Yes. I get there for the second "fitting" and she still doesn't have it done!!! By this time I have already moved back home because school is out and the wedding was in less than two months, so I couldn't go look for a new dress in Utah. I was so frustrated. To cut to the chase, by the time she was finished with my dress, (which was like a week before the wedding) it was the ugliest thing I have ever seen. The sleeves didn't match the color of my dress AT ALL and they were huge and just so ugly. I cried for like two days. BUT I really couldn't do anything about it. We had already spent money on my dress and getting it fitted and there was no time to go to Utah to buy another dress. So i had to deal with it. It just makes me so angry every time I think about it.

HOWEVER, when I really put things into perspective, I realize what that day was really about. It was about me and Branson being sealed together for all of time and eternity. Even though I didn't look how I wanted on my wedding day, I have the rest of my life to spend with my best friend. So I guess that makes up for it. :)

Atleast one of us looked good ;) Isn't he handsome?

On a side note, B and I had SO much fun at our wedding. Besides the wedding dress mishap, it was such a memorable day with the people we love, and we couldn't have asked for anything better.

  1. I went through the same thing! Well, very similar. I didn't think anyone else disliked the way they looked on their wedding day other than me. I had dreams about it for months after the wedding. Oh well. I really liked how you put it into perspective though. That was perfect. :)
