Adios Hermana Alsup

One of my favorite people left this last Wednesday on a mission to Houston, Texas--
Miss Kelsy Alsup.
Branson and I drove down to Ogden to hear her talk last Sunday and it was amazing.  B and I got teary eyed.  Ooookay let's be honest, I got teary eyed and Branson said he almost did.  That's about as close as he gets.  He doesn't cry. EVER.  Actually he did ONCE and it was when we were watching Marly and Me and he was thinking about his dog, Moses. Haha. It was so sweet.  Anyways, back to Kelsy....After her talk we went to her house to eat some lunch and baked goods (which are her specialty).  I'm so thrilled for her and know she will make a difference in so many lives.  But I'm sad that we won't be having any more lunch dates at Blue Lemon.  It was a bittersweet good-bye.  Atleast it will be fun to write her and keep in touch that way.
Love you Kels!

Gyros

The husband and I are in Viva Las Vegas for the weekend.  B's best bud is getting married tonight so we came down Thursday after classes to hang out a bit before.  Yesterday we met up with Branson's friend Marie and her husband Matsy for lunch.  They took us to a Mediterranean restaurant called Paymon's.  Let me just say...BEST meal I have had in a LONG time.  It was so, so, SO delicious.  Marie and I got the Gyros Salad.

(This isn't the exact picture because I forgot my dang camera)  Our salads actually looked a lot more appetizing.  The meat that comes on the salad is actually lamb.  Normally I wouldn't be up to eating lamb, but man it is GOOD!  And that's not all....for desert we had Baklava.
YUMMM.  It just melts in your mouth.... I'm probably a little too excited about this meal.  BUT my tummy was very happy. :)

B and I will be making trips here everytime we are in Vegas from now on.  It's a new favorite for us.

Thanks Marie and Matsy!!

Paigey

I got to spend Saturday night with these two beauties...

Pay Pay and La La.

It was Paige's 23rd birthday and we went to PF Changs to celebrate.  Our friend Jessica was working and she hooked us up with some delicious pina coladas. Dinner was pretty tasty too.

Paigey making her birthday wish.  Love you Paige! Hope you had a wonderful birthday!!

Date Night

Tonight (Friday night) Branson and I had a fun date night- dinner and a movie.  Pretty typical I know, but these are by far two of our favorite things to do.
We went to Wing Nutz for dinner and I have to say I was pretty impressed.  The best part about it is that the wings are baked, not fried.  I love me some good hot wings.  Never feel to great after eating them though, even when they are "healthier."  After din din we went and saw Morning Glory at the dollar theater.
(Yeah, we are cheap.  But who wants to pay $20 when you can pay $2!)  At first the movie was a little slow and I was bummed because I hadn't seen a good movie in theaters in a while.  But I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be so cute and so funny!  Maybe I am a little biased because I simply LOVE Rachel McAdams.  Is she not SO cute!?

In my opinion she is the most versatile actress.  Branson always makes fun of me because apparently I say that a lot.  But it's so true.  I love her movies.  But if you haven't seen Morning Glory I would recommend it.  It's a cute, feel good movie.
We of course ended the night with some delicious Cold Stone ice cream. Coffee ice cream with brownies.  MmmMmm good.
What a good start to a great three day weekend. :)
