Muddley Crew

On Saturday the 13th, Branson and I, my sister Jenee, and some of her friends all ran in the Del Mar Mud Run in California.  It's a 5k that they put on every year, and you run through mud!  You could pick a theme if you wanted, so we all dressed up as 80's rock.  We made tutu's which was fun, but NOT practical for a mud run.

Don't you just LOVE those short shorts on B? haha.  Good thing he's got some thick, sexy legs to show off.
There were a lot of hills and mud pits that you had to crawl through.

I lost my tutu half way through.  I completely submerged myself in the mud, and it was just weighing me down.  So i tossed it.

The after picture.

It was really funny watching everyone crawl through the mud and it was actually harder than I thought.  The mud was really heavy, so it felt like I was running with weights on or something.  It was a great workout.  But we had a great time and I would love to do it again next year, just with a better costume.

Terminado

I officially finished all 615 pages of the Host this morning.

It was great.

I loved the ending.

Would recommend it.

Now onto the HUNGER GAMES!

A Little Update

A lot of good news has come our way lately and we just feel so blessed.  If any of you don't know, Branson is getting his Masters in Accounting at BYU.  Life has been pretty hectic for him lately with all the homework and studying he has to do.  I hardly get to see him!  But he has been meeting with a ton of people through BYU functions and has been interested in firms in California and Las Vegas. Turns out he got two fly out interviews to a couple of the big 4 firms. His first interview was in Irvine with PWC about a week and a half ago, and his second interview was in Las Vegas with Deloitte.  He has already heard back from both firms and they loved him! (of course!)  So he has been offered an internship this summer to either firm.  The hard part is, he isn't even sure if that's what he wants to do, and he needs to let them know by the 19th. haha (we obviously have A LOT to figure out)  He has some other options in mind, but I'm just so proud of him!  He works so hard and it has all paid off.

Some more good news is that I finally got into BYU!  Man, what a relief.  I have been at the Salt Lake Center for two years now and I am all out of generals!  So if I hadn't got admitted for winter semester, I really don't think I would have ever graduated.  And that is a must for me.

These next couple of weeks are going to be jam-packed.  We leave this Friday for CA and on Saturday Branson and I, my sister Jenee, and a bunch of her friends are getting together to do the Del Mar Mud Run!  It's a 5k and all the teams dress up and then run through the mud!  Sounds great, huh?  We are so excited.  Then on Sunday we leave for a 7 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera.  (thank you Elite Home Security!)  After that, we come back for two days and then head out again for Thanksgiving with Branson's family at a cabin in Beaver. So we have a ton to look forward to.  This week is hectic trying to get homework finished beforehand and studying for tests that we have to take as soon as we get back.  But life is good, and we feel so blessed!

Ew.

My blog is really ugly/plain/boring. It's time for a major change. Any advice as to where I can find templates or help on editing blogs?

It would be greatly appreciated :)

New Post

So I found this frame at IKEA and fell in love at first sight. Then I was at a little boutique the other day and got the idea of turning it into a jewelry hanger. And this is how it turned out...

I LOVE it. It works so great and I finally have room to hang everything without it looking cluttered.  It was really easy too.  I just popped the glass out and bought some fabric that was durable and then hot glued it to the back. I am very pleased.

The Host

On my down time I have been submerged in this book^. I didn't really know what to think at first, and it took me a while to get into it. I would read a couple pages here and there, but then would find something better to do-which does NOT usually happen when I start reading a good book. BUT, I decided I had nothing to lose in reading it, and I'm so glad I did. I'm only about half way through, but it's starting to get REALLY good. I'll have to post about it when I finish, which will probably be soon.

I want to start reading the Hunger Games next. I have heard SO many good things about them and my brother-in-law gave me the first book.

Gosh, sometimes I really forget how much I love reading a good book. ESPECIALLY a good love story.

All I want for Christmas is...

A PUPPY!!!!

TELL ME this isn't the cutest dog, EVER!? It is a lab and a chow chow mix. I came across this dog HERE and fell in love. (The video is actually kinda depressing, just a heads up) Sad thing is, I'm only dreaming. There is no way we could have a dog where we are living, nor do we have the time to take care of it. But I WANT ONE!
