SCAN

Our good friend Garrett Gee started his own company called Scan. It's an app (the best, that is) that scans QR codes.  Earlier this year he made a commercial for it and Branson and I helped out.  B did the voice over and i'm the girl in it. Obviously.

Click HERE if you want to see it. FYI i'm NO actress...but it was fun :) The video was used in BYU's business plan competition.  Since then they have filmed even more videos through professional videographers that look awesome.

(A few photos that Gar took the other day.)

If you don't already have it, download the app SCAN on your smart phones :)

P.S. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Had a creepy thing happen to me this morning.  My friend Sami and I were out for a morning jog on the Provo trail--which is probably one of the stupidest places to run in Provo because of all the creepers that hide out along the river.  We pass this guy/girl/who knows sitting on a rock that is nestled in the bushes.  He has a hood on and is smoking a cig.  We couldn't see his face and it seemed a little odd so we just picked up the pace a bit.  A little ways up the trail we turned around to head back and when we passed him, he looks up at us slowly and his face is painted like the joker from Batman! I about had a heart attack.  He was SO creepy.  And this was before I even realized it was Halloween so I was way weirded out and a little scared.  Some people are nutso. I don't think i'll be running there anymore...

Anyways, hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!

One year older.

The hubs turned the big 27 on Monday.  27!? So crazy how fast time flies.

Saturday night I planned a big surprise dinner with some of Branson's closest friends at Tucano's restaurant.  We hadn't been there in a while and the food is great! I figured we could splurge a little bit on this special occasion :)  The surprise turned out PERFECT! He was expecting just a few of his old roommates so i'm sure he was surprised when there were about 25 familiar faces.  He had no idea...and that is a pat on the back to me because Branson usually catches on to e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. We had a good time and I know it was fun for Branson to be with all his best friends.
He is the BEST!

SURPRISE!!

 Missing Robbie in this one...

 The whole gang.

I hope you had a wonderful birthday babe...you deserve it!
I can't wait to celebrate the many birthdays to come.
I love you most!

Moab

Last weekend was our half marathon in Moab, Utah.  Some friends and I have been training since July.  I'm happy to say all our hard work paid off.  We did it!  I'm really proud of myself.  I've never been a big runner and I honestly wasn't sure if I would ever do well at long distance running.  I proved myself wrong and it's definitely an accomplishment.

Our trip to Moab was short and sweet.  We got to sight see for a bit, loaded up on a big carb dinner, went to bed, got up RAN RAN RAN and then headed back home.

Moab is pretty incredible.

We stayed at the Archway Inn. Cozy little hotel.

"Blake and Cor, look!"

"...now act like something's funny!"

RACE DAY!!!

 Pure joy. We were DONE!

There was about 2500 runners and we ended up placing 800th ish.  Doesn't sound all that great, BUT we were proud. Top 3rd percentile? We'll take it!

Birthday Bash

This post is long overdue. But hey, better late than never, right!?

My 22nd was one of the best birthdays yet.  I have some of the greatest friends a girl could ask for.
My friends Amber, Lyndsey, and Jess put together the best birthday party for me.
They went all out.  Take a looksy....

But first....Branson took me out for a birthday dinner on my actual birthday. This was before I went to town on that pie.  He also bought me this...

Cutest. backpack. ever. Thanks babe :)

The next night was the partayyyyy!

Amber made this piñata from scratch. She's one crafty lady!

They went all out with decorations. It looked SO adorable.

 My wish came true :)
(P.S. picture credit goes to Amber, thanks for letting me snag them!)

They know me OH so well.  Blueberry LEMON cake. Love me some lemon.

There was lots of good food....

And tasty treats....

I laugh out loud every time I look at this picture. Love Sami and her unibrow :)

Once everyone started to show up we kinda forgot to document.  So unfortunately I didn't get a group picture of everyone that came :(

But thanks to everyone that made it to the party and for making this birthday one of the best!

Branson's First

Ok so this is my first time making a post on what is supposed to be "Shelly and Branson's Blog." Hopefully I'll take some of the weight off my wife's shoulders and post a little more often. I thought this video was cool enough to share.

So The Killers is one of my favorite bands and I've known for a while that the lead singer is a member of our church (plus he's from my hometown). I came across this video recently and liked it a lot. I respect the man for sticking to his values while having all kinds of fame. It's a great video... enjoy!
